URL: http://www.gonetoosoon.org

GoneTooSoon, the free online memorial website was first launched in November 2005. It’s a not-for-profit website, offering families and friends the chance to place a lasting, living tribute on the internet for their loved ones who have died. Creating an online memorial, ensures that your much loved family and friends will be remembered forever. In the 3 years since it launched, 10s of millions of visitors have created memorials and left their memories, tributes, photos and lit candles. Autumn 2008 sees GoneTooSoon relaunch with a brand new website. The site’s creator, Terry George strongly believes that the site should remain free so that anyone can create a memorial, whatever their financial circumstances. The new version of GoneTooSoon now features an extremely popular community section, where members can meet and talk to each other. Many people find it easier to cope with the loss of someone close to them if they’re able to talk to others who have experienced similar tragedies. Memorial pages have been set up for thousands of people across the globe, with millions of tributes and candles left every month. Friends and relatives often use the site to pour out their heart as if speaking direct to those they have lost, giving them a unique outlet for their grief. Each memorial site can be customised to suit the memories of those that have died. You can choose from many different themes (from dolphins to sunsets) and add your stories, memories, photographs and music. You can also leave ‘virtual gifts’ on memorials...Click to read more

CemeterySpot.com has created an online memorial community for people who want a high quality way to remember their loved ones. CemeterySpot provides each of its online memorials with a unique web address within a full featured, content rich, online memorial community with features that replicate a real world memorial experience. CemeterySpot.com has many features not available on other memorial sites. These features include your choice of virtual grave monument, cremation urn or mausoleum in various styles, textures and colors; as well as, an audio or video eulogy and GPS location. Did the person want to have his/her final place of rest at the mountains or the beach? There is a choice of scenic locations, or, just upload your own. If you want to upload a personal photo of the actual grave site, urn or mausoleum, no problem, there is an option for that too. In addition, each CemeterySpot.com memorial includes a high quality user-friendly framework with About Me, photo Gallery, Tributes, Legacy and Guest Book pages. With its feedback system you can obtain assistance from other memorial “Spot” owners, and even obtain free hosting and additional free memorials. Visitors to a CemeterySpot memorial “Spot” can leave OnSite Memorial Gifts that reside on the memorial grave, urn or mausoleum site. They include flowers, various ribbons, an angel, teddy bear and rag doll. And, they are similar to what would often be left by well-wishers at a cemetery. “While developing CemeterySpot we investigated many different ways to approach the need for online memorials. A recurring response was that honoring a dearly departed loved one was a very sensitive and spiritual situation which deserved a high quality, full featured, premium experience. And so, we developed CemeterySpot to meet those needs.” said Hal Stevens, President...
